Perfect White Denim

Interesting fact to start the week: I have never been a fan of white denim. As a woman who has never had skinny legs or a small butt, white jeans just weren’t flattering on me. I either thought they made me look bigger than I was, or the material showed every imperfection.

Enter: Topshop White Denim!

I decided to order these Topshop Moto Jamie Jeans a few weeks ago before our trip to Fort Lauderdale last week. I wanted white denim to go with this pink top from Revolve and my Schutz heels. My plans for the outfit changed after I realized heels with 3 kids under 6 wasn’t going to happen lol! But regardless, these are the most flattering white jeans ever! The high waist is SO good, and the material is thick and flattering, with the right amount of stretch. It’s the best $70 I’ve spent in a while!

Barcelona, Spain

I recently traveled to Barcelona, Spain and fell in love with this beach city. The amount of old and new is something to speak of. The history in Barcelona is remarkable. The architecture is positively breathtaking. If you are traveling to Barcelona in the near future and have any questions, please contact us! We are happy to lead you in the right direction! 🙂

AirBnB For this part of our trip we decided to stay in a flat in the city. It was an awesome location and a lovely, modern apartment. Easy to find and easy to work with. The roof top pool is also something to awe over. I highly recommend this flat due to its convenience and space. Wouldn’t have done it any other way!

Must Go To Restaurants:

  • BARRACA – amazing Paella. On the beach. MUST GET RESERVATIONS!
  • Restaurante Martínez –  This restaurant is on the coast line with a beautiful view of the city. The food – OMG!! Must get reservations!!

Other Musts:

  • Vermouth Tasting at Morro Fi
    • This is a local spot. A little intimidating for tourists but well worth it! The vermouth is AMAZING. Trust me on this one.
  • Drinks at the W hotel.
    • We did this the first night we arrived. It was beautiful! I was told not to eat there due to the pricing. We took an Uber to Barraca after drinks.
  • Cava Tours
    • We did this on our own. We took a train to the mountains (45 minutes) and went to two wineries. The best winery was Cava Llopart. It was STUNNING. Oh, and the cava was great too 🙂 Make sure you schedule a tour ahead of time. It is the oldest winery in the country, so it is quite popular. This was my favorite part of the trip.
    • Train Stop: Sant Sadurní D’anoia
  • Antoni Gaudí Tour
    • Another MUST!!! Before I traveled to Spain, I was wondering what all the hipe was. Turns out, he was pretty amazing. Barcelona is known for its Catalan Architecture. Gaudi was the star of this style. Schedule a tour and finish you tour at his park: Park Guell.
    • We scheduled our tour of the Sagrada Familia on a separate day. You can schedule all your tours when you arrive to Barcelona or ahead of time. Just google it 🙂
    • After you see the Sagrada Familia, grab lunch at one of the cafes down the road. What a site to gaze at while eating pizza and drinking cava!
  • Get donuts from LUKUMAS and coffee from NOMAD Coffee
  • Eat a much Iberian Ham, Olives, and Pan Con Tomato.
  • Order as many bottles of cava as humanly possible!
  • We were planning to take a sunset cruise but it was the off season and we didn’t have a lot of options. I would suggest doing this if you travel in summer.

PVC Sandals FTW!

For the last few years, PVC sandals and flip flops (or jellys as Ken likes to call them!) have been my go-to sandals for the pool and vacations. Not only are they comfortable, but they are very durable, especially in the water, sun and sand.

The pink pair I’m wearing in the below pic from our vacation this week are Valentino. While they aren’t cheap, I’ve had them for over 3 years and they still look new! I wear them all the time in summer and on vacations, so to me, they’re worth the price based on the cost per wear alone.

Check out some other cute options below!

I’ve been eyeing this color for a while now (I hope my husband is reading this because Valentine’s Day is coming up😉). You might as well take the plunge and buy these now before they go up in price again (they went up $50 within the last few years). I normally wear a 7-7.5 US, and I purchase this brand in a 38. Check them out here.

If you’re looking for a less expensive PVC flip flop, I would definitely recommend MELISSA. Most are under $60, and they have really cute styles and colors. They only come in whole sizes, so I purchase size 8. Buy these ones here.

These cute slides are the ones Ken is wearing in the photo above! They are Cat & Jack from Target, and they also come in pink. Get them here.

These are similar to the adult MELISSA flip flops above. They are MEL by MELISSA kids Harmonic Bow Flip Flops, and you can buy them here.

Headbands for Spring

This just in: Fashion insiders proclaim headbands are back for Spring ’19!! Let us all rejoice fellow Blair Waldorf lovers!! I’ve been a collector of headbands through my day. Luckily, I never got rid of any of them! I am officially ready for the spring trend. See my favorite new “Blair” inspired bands below.

Headband: Cara // Sweater: Tory Burch // Tank: Aritzia // Jeans: Madewell

All About the Outlets

When we decided to take a mini vacation in January, I knew I had to get some new clothes for Ken, because she grew out of everything from last summer. Well it turns out, that was much more difficult than I expected! In December and early January, finding inexpensive summer clothes for kids was extremely difficult, even online. There were some options online, but everything seemed to be sold out in her size. So I turned to the outlets!

I ended up finding some great summer options at the outlets by us, so I was so happy we stopped there. I got Ken a Ralph Lauren Polo dress for $15, and the below pair of Joe’s Jean shorts for only $13!

Embroidered shorts: Joe’s Jeans from Saks Off 5th

Some of the outlets where I found great kids options are below!

You can find so many summer kids options at Saks Off 5th!

Nordstrom Rack has some cute summer clothing and shoe options for kids!

I started shopping for Ken’s clothes for vacation in December, and H&M had some cute options at their outlet store. Since then, they launched their spring preview for kids, and includes some summer getaway styles!

Yes, I know Target isn’t an outlet store, but I got all of Ken’s sandals and flip flops from here, so I couldn’t leave them out!!

Happy Monday from TDV!

Pittsburgh Family Fun

Those that have been following along on our blogging journey know that Monica and I live in different cities…hence Two Different Views!😉 I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and have lived here all of my life, so naturally after having my daughter, Kennedy, I started doing some of the fun things around the city with her, that my parents did with me.

We live a lot closer to downtown now than I did growing up, so we definitely take advantage of all it has to offer. Whether you live in Pittsburgh or are visiting with your family, I rounded up a list of our favorite things to do to keep the little ones entertained!

Carnegie Museums and the Carnegie Science Center

The Carnegie museums and Science Center are great places for kids to learn, explore and let’s be honest, hopefully get out all of their energy and go to bed early!! Ken loves the dinosaur exhibit at the Natural History Museum, and she’s even shown a little more interest in the art exhibits at the museums recently.

The Carnegie Science Center is another one of her favorite places to go, especially the SportsWorks side! They also have great members and non-member events throughout the year, like sleepovers and fun holiday events!

The Carnegie Museums and Science Center offer a yearly family membership option, and in my experience, it’s worth the price! You could go to the Science Center twice with your entire family and end up paying more for admission than the membership would cost. With the membership, you have access to Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, Carnegie Science Center, and The Andy Warhol Museum. Find out more about the membership here!

Sporting Events

Ken loves sports, so we try to take her to Steelers, Penguins and Pirates games whenever we can! Most areas and sections of each stadium are very family friendly.

All of the teams do a great job at making sure the younger kids have fun, with kid-themed days, contests, and the occasional lap around the bases!

Seven Springs

We’ve taken Ken to Seven Springs Mountain Resort a few times within the last year, and I couldn’t be more glad that we did! We put her in the Tiny Tots’ ski lessons, because she had never skied before. Not only did we have the entire day (9am-3pm) to ski with the adults, but they taught her how to ski better than I could have in a few short hours. After her lessons, she came skiing with us, and I’m still blown away every time I watch this video! Find out more about the Tiny Tots’ lessons here.

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust

Ken loves going to see plays, musicals and ballets! My mom took her to see her first ballet, Alice in Wonderland, when she was 5, and since then she’s been hooked. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust puts on great shows for kids throughout the year, and below are a few shows that are coming up.

Ken has the Andrea Beaty book “Ada Twist, Scientist” and this Rosie Revere, Engineer musical is based on another one of her books that focuses on the STEM curriculum. A musical that’s educational?? That’s a win-win! This is showing March 31, 2019 – April 7, 2019, and you can purchase tickets here.

My girlfriends and I saw Disney’s Newsies in Pittsburgh in 2017 as a mini bridal shower weekend for Moni! Did we care that we were 30-year-olds sitting next to a bunch of 10-year-olds watching a Disney Broadway show?? Absolutely not!! But this would be an amazing show to take your little ones to! It will be in Pittsburgh May 2, 2019 – May 12, 2019, and you can purchase tickets here.

I hope you guys can use this post to enjoy all that Pittsburgh has to offer!

Schutz Obsessed

This blog post is solely dedicated to one of my favorite shoe brands: Schutz!! Not only are there shoes well made, but they look more expensive than they actually are. They tend to run from about $170 and up, but they frequently have sales, so you’re sure to score a pair for under $100.

CI have a few styles of pumps, flats, high heel sandals and even flat sandals. All of them are comfortable, and in my opinion, well worth the price tag! Check out some great options by Schutz below!

I bought these last summer and wore them more than I would like to admit! They went with everything! Check them out here.

I love the detail on this classic pump. These can be found here.

I love this style, because they can easily be dressed up or down! These can be found here.

And they look so similar to these Manolo Blahnik’s!

And if you’re looking for a pop of color, they also come in beige and neon yellow!

Find them here.

Happy Thursday from TDV!

DITA Eyewear

As someone who needs to wear glasses every day, the quality and style of my frames are important to me. When I was younger, I tended to get the flashy designer frames because I thought they were “trendy” but really they were poorly made and didn’t last long.

My best friend, who also happens to be my eye doctor, introduced me to DITA Eyewear 3 years ago, and I haven’t looked back since!! All of their frames, both optical and sunglasses, are beautifully made, and the designs are like no other. DITA is definitely considered luxury eyewear, but the branding is discreet, which is perfect for a corporate environment. You KNOW they are high-end, luxury glasses, without the logo being plastered on the sides!

Check out some beautiful frames below!

You can find my glasses here: DITA VIDA

I’ve been eyeing these rose gold and silver frames forever! Dr. LP…I think these might be my next purchase😁 Find them here: DITA ARISE

I love the shape of this frame, and the tortoise pattern is subtle and classy! Find them here: DITA LACQUER

Check out other styles, optical and sun, for men and women on!
